EM640 - Economics of Marine Engineering


Credits: 3

The course objective is building problem solving and decision making skills for the engineering environment. Topics include engineering economy theory, cost analysis and estimation, depreciation and depletion models, engineering project economics, replacement analysis, decision making under risk and uncertainty, sensitivity analysis, capital budgeting decisions. Practical applications to ship design and operations, and marine equipment manufacturing are presented as case studies.

Prerequisites: Undergraduate economics.
