WRIT110 - Technical & Professional Communications


Credits: 2

(Also offered as LITR 220 ) This course focuses on technical and professional communications-the clear, accurate, accessible presentation of specialized information in written and spoken forms. Students will study and imitate models, writing technical reports, business plans, proposals, memoranda and e-mail messages. Students will work together, providing constructive criticism, proofreading others’ work, and preparing for final projects. The class will also give students opportunities to deliver information orally through speeches and presentation. Emphasis here will be on the content, organization, and engaging delivery of information. This course will be taught with the support of the Department of Maine Engineering.

Prerequisites: ECME 105
