ECME440 - Engine Room Resource Management

Credits: 1

Engine Room Simulation-based training is designed to enhance the potential third engineer’s skills to operate and make proper decisions in the operation a large horsepower engine room in safe and effective manner. The student will be part of a watch team in which he/she will be placed in numerous operational scenarios. During the course of the operational scenarios various plant conditions may change and machinery casualties may be introduced. The watch team will be required to troubleshoot the situation, decide on the proper course of action and take corrective measures in order to insure safe operation of the propulsion plant.

Prerequisites: ECME 101  and ECME 105 
4 laboratory hours per week
