HIST230 - The American Revolutionary War Credits: 3
An introduction and overview of the American Revolution/War for Independence. It takes an international view, rather than a national or patriotic perspective; thus it is fair to address the conflict as the British Imperial Civil War. Topics covered include: origins, political theory, economic practices, military strategy and key battles, leaders, peace-making, and the short and long-term legacies of the conflict. Students who successfully complete the course will have a good knowledge base of this era and be able to explain its place within the larger context of modern world history. This is an elective course.
