HIST240 - The Great War Credits: 3
This course examines the causes, direction, and consequences of World War I. It focuses on war planning and fighting at the strategic, operational and tactical levels by the major combatants and their colonial empires. The global dimension, including oceanic naval operations and the experience of non-European peoples and war zones, provides added context. Special attention is also paid to the US experience and post-war peace-making. This is an elective course.
